Imagine, you are a child living in the 1950s. It is such a hot day, and you would love something cool and delicious for dessert tonight, something like ice cream. Of course, ice cream is a very rare treat and you are only allowed it on special occasions. You know today you might be lucky though, because you have just started holidays and your parents often allow special treats during the school break. When you get home, just as you had hoped, your mother hands you the heavy ice cream thermos and gives you permission to go to the milk bar and buy some ice cream. You have to carry the heavy thermos to the milkbar and ask them to fill it with the delicious, creamy treat, and then lug it back home again. On a hot day it is hard work, but the treat of ice cream is completely worth it!
