This week, Roy decided it was time to make something for his Grandpa. With Fathers Day just around the corner, it is the perfect time to think about gifts for Dads and Grandpas, and Roy wanted to help some of his online friends with ideas. Roy's Grandpa loves to barbecue, and so Roy thought a nice gift would be a sauce he could use with his barbequed meat. He didn't want to make a normal barbecue sauce though, he wanted something different. Then, Grandma remembered one of her friends recipes, a plum sauce which is quick and easy to make, tasty with meat and lasts well. This would be perfect. So this week, Roy Creates Quick and Easy Plum Dipping Sauce For Fathers Day.
You Will Need:
- 1 cup of plum jam
- 1/2 a cup of mango chutney
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 1 clove of garlic
- 3 tablespoons of white vinegar
- Chilli to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
You will also need another 2 tablespoons of liquid. The recipe uses 2 tablespoons of dry sherry, but you can use 2 tablespoons of dry white wine or 1 tablespoon of water and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice instead if you like.
Method:
- Grate the ginger into a bowl
- Grate or crush the garlic and add it to the ginger
- Add the rest of the ingredients
- Mix very thoroughly with a whisk
- Decant into a bottle or jar and seal tightly
- Use a sticky label to make a label for your sauce. Roy wrote 'Roy's Plum Sauce. Sept 1. 2011. Store In The Fridge' on his.
- Put a circular piece of material over the top of the jar and secure with a rubber band
- Give to Dad or Grandpa, or any other special men, to enjoy on Fathers Day.
